Women’s Opportunity Award

This Award gives women the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.  
Eligible applicants must be women who provide the primary financial support for their families, and who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.  
The women may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, including books, childcare and transportation.  
The program begins at the local club level, where cash award amounts vary. Club recipients become eligible to receive region-level awards in each of SI ‘s 28 regions. The 28 first-place recipients then become eligible to receive one of three $10,000 awards.

Making a Difference for Women Award

This award was designed to honor women who are working to improve the lives of women and girls through their personal or volunteer lives or through their professions.
These women are not Soroptimists.
Their work helps to promote the issues that are important to Soroptimist.
The club level award may or may not include a cash award. The club honoree becomes eligible for a region honor and cash award. The region honoree becomes eligible for one federation award of $5000.

Violet Richardson Award

This award recognizes a young woman aged 14-17 who volunteers in her community or school
The program begins at the local club level, with a cash award. Club-level winners then become eligible for one of 28 $1000 Region awards. In addition, $1000 will be contributed in honor of these winners to their volunteer organizations. One finalist will be chosen from among the 28 winners for an additional award, including a contribution of $2500 to the finalist’s volunteer organization.

Northwest Region Fellowship Grant

This award is presented to a woman living in Northwestern Region who is continuing her education with a post graduate (master’s or PHD) program.
Soroptimists or immediate family members are ineligible for this award.
Clubs distribute applications in their community.

Club winners are submitted to Northwest Region Chair by February 1. The winner is presented with a $4000.00 award at the Region Conference.
