Gregory Moawad on Human Trafficking and Slavery Gregory Moawad is a graduate of Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark. Moawad has been employed as a deputy district attorney in Multnomah County, OR since the early 1990's. As a deputy district attorney he has specialized in the prosecution of violent crime. He has focused on elderly abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault. He is currently assigned to Unit D, a violent crime unit, where he specializes in human trafficking cases. Business Meetings:

This past January Soroptimists
from all over the Northwestern Region and beyond joined us in Portland, Oregon
for the Northwest Conference Against Trafficking. After two years of
successful Human Trafficking Forums sponsored by SI Southwest Washington, SI
Vancouver, and SI Camas-Washougal, we are proud to announce that your
Soroptimist Northwestern Region will continue to lead the Northwest Coalition
Against Trafficking! The NWCAT is made up of many law enforcement agencies, government offices, media, non-profit organizations, United States Departments including the National Human Trafficking Resource Center and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and most importantly, the coalition is represented by many Soroptimist clubs throughout the Region.
Please Save the Date: January 14-16, 2011. The conference will be held at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. Conference speakers and highlights will be announced on March 8th (International Women's Day).
